2.7 million people use Fawran in Qatar; 5.5m transactions made since its launch

Qatar Central Bank (QCB) reported that the value of financial transactions using the Fawran system has reached QR 10.1 billion since its launch in March 2024, executing 5.5 million financial transactions.
The transaction value average growth rate was up by 28%, while the number of transactions volume average rate increased by 31%, according to QCB’s post on the social media platform X.
The number of registered individual accounts reached 2.7 million, and the number of registered corporate accounts reached 99,000.
QCB said the Fawran system has proven its efficiency in facilitating and improving payment processes in terms of reducing the time required to transfer money between individuals and companies in Qatar. It allows users to send and receive money instantly and securely.
