The Ministry of Municipality, represented by Doha Municipality, in cooperation with the Seashore Group, a recycling company, carried out an extensive field campaign to remove construction waste from the Al Thumama area (Fereej 50). The campaign resulted in the removal of more than 2,500 loads of waste, as part of the ministry’s efforts to improve the urban landscape and enhance the quality of life in residential neighborhoods.

This campaign falls within the directives of Minister of Municipality HE Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah who continually emphasizes the importance of providing a clean, safe, and sustainable environment, in line with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly with regard to environmental development.

The campaign was implemented according to a comprehensive plan that included field surveys, monitoring, and waste removal from sites affected by indiscriminate dumping, which has increased due to the rapid urban growth witnessed in the region.

In this context, Director General of Doha Municipality Eng Mohammed Hassan Al Nuaimi emphasized that the results achieved in Al Thumama embody a successful model of cooperation between government agencies and the private sector, and reflect the ministry’s commitment to intensifying its efforts to maintain the cleanliness of the capital and improve the quality of life across its various regions. He called on all contractors and developers to commit to transporting waste to approved sites, and that there would be no tolerance for environmental violations in the future.

The project is expected to open during the third quarter of 2025, marking a qualitative addition to the urban infrastructure, providing a public space for families, supporting a healthy lifestyle, and enhancing community activities in a sustainable green environment.
