Qatar enjoys the fastest mobile internet speed in the world: Index

DOHA: Qatar has the fastest mobile internet speed in the world, as measured by the SpeedtestGlobal Index.
At 313.30 Mbps, the median download speed on mobile internet in Qatar, it is now the fastest in the world. With a 19 ms delay, upload rates are 27.53 Mbps (megabits per second), SpeedtestGlobal Index has said.

The Speedtest Global Index compares internet speed data from around the world on a monthly basis. Data for the Index comes from the hundreds of millions of tests taken by real people using Speedtest every month.
With median download speeds of 296.00 Mbps, upload speeds of 26.25 Mbps, and latency of 19 ms, the UAE has the second-fastest mobile internet in the world.
Kuwait boasts the third-fastest mobile internet in the world, with median download of 288.64 and upload speeds 23.73 Mbps, respectively, with a latency of 18 ms.
It’s followed by Iceland. With median download speeds of 158.32 Mbps, upload rates of 20.22 Mbps, and latency of 17 ms, Iceland has the fourth-fastest mobile internet speeds in the world.
Iceland is followed by South Korea, Denmark, China, Netherlands, US and Macau.
“We’ve looked at which nations have the fastest internet connections and which cell companies are doing the best in each one using the most recent data available, which was collected in February 2024,” Business Day website reported.

Afghanistan, Yemen, East Timor and Cuba respectively appear in the last positions in the list, with Cuba coming last in the 148th position.
Internet measurements made with Speedtest occur at the times and in the places that are most relevant to the person taking the test. Each time a test is initiated, a snapshot of what the internet looks like in that place and time is recorded. When aggregated together, these individual experiences represent the typical internet performance for a given location.
