Awqaf Ministry to offer 300,000 Iftar meals during Ramadan

Doha, QNA: The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has launched the Iftar fasting campaign for Ramadan 1446 AH, offering 300,000 Iftar meals across nine squares statewide, with the possibility of expansion.

Addressing a press conference, Chairman of Iftar committee at the Ministry of Endowments, Muhammad Yaqoub Al Ali, said the campaign is one of the community initiatives undertaken by the Ministry with the aim of spreading the ethos of interdependence and collaboration among the community members as advocated by the Islamic religion.

Through this campaign Awqaf primarily intends to reinforce interdependence and enable those in need to perform the obligation of fasting, in addition to mitigating the suffering of many workers who encounter tough conditions in preparing the meals in a timely manner.
