Bakery in Al Rayyan closed for violating food laws

DOHA: The Ministry of Municipality announced the closure of a famous bakery at Al Rayyan for seven days for violating the Human Food Regulation Law No. 8 of 1990.

The Ministry said that Al Rayyan Municipality closed the bakery for preparing food in unsanitary condi-tions, explaining that food is unfit for consumption if it is prepared, cooked or stored in unsanitary conditions or methods, which constitutes a violation of the provisions of the law and obliges the viola-tor has to pay the closure costs.

The duration of the closure is determined by the competent director according to the type and severi-ty of the violation, as the duration of the closure does not exceed 60 days at a time, and the closures are repeated with the repetition of violations.

It is not permissible to open the closed shop or to carry out the activity or carry out maintenance dur-ing the entire period of closure, and violating this entails criminal liability.
