Beware of mosquito breeding, Ministry cautions as winter approaches

Ministry of Municipality has advised residents to take precautions to prevent mosquitoes from breeding as rains and winter are approaching.

The Ministry outlined, on social media, various steps to be followed to get rid of mosquitoes. The steps are the following:

• Tightly seal water wells.
• Dispose of water pools in barrels, empty containers and tyres.
• Report any water pools
• Renew drinking water for animals and birds
• Tightly close water tanks
• Disposing of stagnant water in fountains and swimming pools
• Disposing of water leaking from air conditioners
• Preventing any leakage from water taps
• Disposing of water leaking from watering ornamental plants
