H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Amir, and H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairper-son of Qatar Foundation (QF), yesterday attended a milestone event marking Qatar Foundation’s 30 years of unlocking human potential, contributing to development on a local, regional, and international level.
The Qatar Foundation 30 Years Anniversary Celebration at Education City held at Al Shaqab, which has special resonance for the founders of QF was also attended by Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani,

Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation, together with ministers and dignitaries.
As well as reflecting on Qatar Foundation’s three decades of impact in education, science and research, and community development, the event honored the vital contribution that QF’s partners and stakeholders havemade – and continue to make – to its mission, reinforcing that shared goals and collaboration amplify the benefit generated for society.
In her speech, Sheikha Moza said: “Today we celebrate a pivotal moment in the history of the State of Qatar and the Middle East: the moment in 1995 when all the necessary elements converged to cata-lyze the creation of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.”
She continued: “We have been on a trailblazing journey, spanning three decades, in which visionary ideas and programs have been developed, driven by unrelenting determination to arrive at our goal which is national and Arab at its heart, and international in its standards.”

During the event, Father Amir and Sheikha Moza planted seeds beneath an illuminated image of a Sid-ra tree – the emblem of QF – recalling the words Her Highness said at the founding of QF: “Tomorrow is seeded here”.
The audience heard from people whose lives have been touched by QF in different ways – from education and innovation to citizenship and sustainability – as they recounted their personal journeys in the form of letters beginning “Dear QF”.
Since its establishment in 1995, QF has built and evolved a unique and integrated ecosystem of knowledge, which is home to 13 schools and seven universities from which 17,500 students have graduated.
