FIFA and the Local Organising Committee for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 and the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 have officially launched the registration phase of the FIFA Volunteers Qatar 2025 programme, aimed at supporting the two tournaments set to take place later this year.
The announcement was made during a launch event at the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, where organisers met with media representatives and members of the community. Interested individuals were invited to submit their applications to be part of the volunteer force for the two major tournaments scheduled for November and December.
The initiative seeks to recruit 4,000 volunteers to assist in 20 operational areas, including tournament management, media operations, fan services, permits, hospitality, and more.
Jassim Abdulaziz Al Jassim, CEO of the Local Organising Committee, highlighted the vital role that volunteers have played in Qatar’s major sporting events over the past decade. He commended their contributions not only to event operations but also as cultural ambassadors, showcasing Qatar’s renowned hospitality through their interactions with visitors and fans from across the globe.
Al Jassim noted that both the FIFA Arab Cup and the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2025 will rely significantly on volunteer engagement. He reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to sustaining the strong culture of volunteerism built during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, expressing his eagerness to collaborate once again with dedicated volunteers to deliver exceptional experiences.
Reflecting on his personal connection to the volunteer movement, Al Jassim shared that his own journey in major sporting events began as a volunteer, and he finds it inspiring to see how the initiative has evolved, attracting increasing numbers of individuals committed to contributing to the success of international tournaments.
Haya Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of Administration at the Local Organising Committee, expressed her delight at offering another opportunity for Qatar’s volunteer community to be part of two of the country’s most significant upcoming sporting events.
The FIFA Volunteers Qatar 2025 programme aims to engage enthusiastic and committed individuals who will play a key role in enhancing the tournament atmosphere. Applicants must be residents of Qatar, at least 18 years old, fluent in English, and ideally proficient in additional languages such as Arabic. Volunteers are expected to commit to the full duration of the tournament to which they are assigned and attend all mandatory training sessions. Previous volunteering experience is not required, but applicants should demonstrate teamwork, initiative, and a strong sense of camaraderie.
Volunteer registration will remain open for two weeks, with the selection process beginning in June. Interviews will be conducted at the Volunteer Centre at Lusail Stadium. Those who have previously volunteered at FIFA tournaments or events will be exempt from the interview stage.
