IEI Women’s Wing Qatar launches ‘Ocean Insights’ series with Power BI workshop

DOHA: The Women’s Wing of The Institution of Engineers (India), Qatar Chapter, launched the first session of its ‘Ocean Insights Educational Series’ on May 3, 2025, at Centro Capital Hotel. Titled “Revolutionize Your Business – Unlocking Microsoft Power BI’s Full Potential”, the event drew over 50 professionals, engineers, and IEI members.

The session began with networking, followed by a welcome from Secretary Er. Saheeda Asharaf and a Presidential Address by Er. Dilba, President of IEI Qatar Women’s Wing. In her remarks, In her remarks, she highlighted the growing recognition of women’s contributions in engineering and technology and affirmed the wing’s bold vision to create a strong platform for women engineers to learn, lead, and make a meaningful impact in the engineering sector.

The event was inaugurated by Er. Abdul Sathar, Hon. Chairman IEI Qatar, who appreciated the focus on technical upskilling through such initiatives. Er. Busna introduced the keynote speaker, setting the context for the learning session ahead.

The highlight of the evening was a 45-minute expert session on Microsoft Power BI, conducted by Er. Noor Afza, an experienced corporate trainer and Power BI developer, alongside Er. Thasnim.

An interactive Q&A and post-assessment session followed, allowing participants to clarify doubts and provide feedback. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Er. Dishari.

The launch session was well-supported by Executive Committee members including Er. Jasna, Er. Samu, and Er. Nishma, whose active presence contributed to the program’s success. The event was moderated by Er. Sruthi, who ensured smooth flow and engagement throughout the evening.
