The Ministry of Sports and Youth has announced plans to upgrade sports and entertainment facilities across the country, focusing on the development of neighborhood playgrounds. In a statement shared on its X platform account, the ministry confirmed that the replacement of artificial turf in 14 playgrounds will begin soon as part of its second phase of development.
The Assets and Projects Department, under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, will oversee this initiative, aiming to provide a healthier and more suitable playing surface for football enthusiasts. The upgraded facilities are intended to enhance the safety and experience of stadium-goers by offering high-quality, durable turf.
The ministry noted that the first phase of the development program is nearing completion, with the second phase focusing on these 14 playgrounds. Once the maintenance work is completed, the facilities will be reopened for public use, ensuring they meet the highest standards for sports activities.
The project is expected to be finalized by August 2025. Upon completion, the neighborhood playgrounds will be available for reservation through the dedicated application, providing easier access for users to book and enjoy the upgraded facilities.
