DOHA: The Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) has called on the Qatari people and residents to donate generously to support the people in Gaza, to provide a lifeline for Palestinian families and provide them with what will keep them alive and strengthen their steadfastness on their land.
It also called on everyone to take the initiative to relieve the afflicted Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, given the need of the people of Gaza for urgent relief that cannot be delayed, calling for the urgent provision of tents, blankets, warm clothes and heating to confront the harsh winter.
The appeal from the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities came as it launched the ‘Palestine Duty’ relief campaign, to help those affected by the aggression on the Gaza Strip, in partnership with the Qatar Red Crescent Society and Qatar Charity, and in cooperation with the Qatar Media Corporation (Qatar TV).
The Authority said on Saturday that the launch of the campaign comes within the framework of Qatar’s position in support of the brotherly Palestinian people, to provide relief to the victims of the aggression on the Gaza Strip, especially the injured, orphans, widows, the bereaved, children, the elderly, and pregnant women.
The Palestine Duty campaign aims to receive donations from all segments of society, from Qataris and residents, to purchase the necessary urgent needs of medicine, food, tents, clothing, water, cleaning materials, and children’s and women’s supplies.
The statement explained that on the National Day of the State, on December 18, Qatar TV will provide live coverage of the campaign and donation sites from Katara Cultural Village, Souq Waqif, and Darb Al Saai.
RACA pointed out that the ongoing aggression against Gaza has led to the destruction of hospitals, the health and environmental system, water sources and infrastructure, cutting off energy, fuel and electricity supplies, destroying half of Gaza’s housing, and leaving people homeless.
