Qatar National Day holidays announced; parade cancelled

DOHA: The Amiri Diwan has officially declared Wednesday, December 18, 2024, and Thursday, December 19, 2024, as public holidays to mark Qatar National Day, observed annually on December 18. Regular working hours will resume on Sunday, December 22, 2024, ensuring a long weekend for residents and citizens to enjoy the celebrations.

However, in a significant update, the Organising Committee for National Day Celebrations has announced the cancellation of this year’s traditional parade. The Ministry of Culture shared the decision via its official social media channels.

Other cultural events and festivities are expected to proceed as planned, including at Darb Al Saai, which are witnessing a large turnout.
