Qatar, other Gulf states strongly condemn Israel’s military targeting of Iran

Doha deeply concerned about serious repercussions that may result from this escalation

The State of Qatar has expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of Israel’s targeting of the Islamic Republic of Iran, deeming the act a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty and a clear breach of international law.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed “deep concern regarding the serious reper-cussions that may result from this escalation” and urged all parties “to exercise restraint, resolve dis-putes through dialogue and peaceful means, and avoid anything that could destabilize security and stability in the region”.

The ministry reiterated a call for the international community to intensify efforts aimed at de-escalation and “ending the suffering of the peoples of the region, particularly in Gaza and Lebanon”.

Other Gulf states and the GCC also condemned the Israeli attack.

Saudi Arabia condemned the military targeting of Iran, denouncing it as a violation of Tehran’s sover-eignty and a breach of international laws and norms, state news agency SPA reported.

In a statement, the Kingdom urged all involved parties to exercise maximum restraint and to work to-ward de-escalation and warned of the grave consequences that prolonged military confrontations could have on the region.

The UAE also condemned the targeting of Iran and stressed the importance of exercising “maximum restraint” to avoid escalation.

In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored commitment to diplomatic channels as the optimal path to de-escalate tensions, urging parties to move away from confrontation and escalation.

Oman said Israel’s attack on Iran “fuels the cycle of violence and undermines efforts” to deescalate. It said the international community should “put an end to these blatant violations on the territory of neighboring countries”.

Kuwait’s foreign ministry also expressed condemnation and accused Israel of “endangering the securi-ty of the region”.

Bahrain condemned the military actions against Iran, expressing deep concern over escalating Middle East tensions and warning of severe impacts on civilians and the humanitarian crisis.

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, expressed his condemnation and denouncement of the Israeli military targeting of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He described this action as a violation of its sovereignty and a breach of international laws and norms.
