Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has urged residents and citizens to rationalize energy consumption in homes by using less consuming appliances, such as LED lamps, to reduce electricity consumption to maintain air quality in the country.

This is the first of five instructions given by the Ministry to the public to improve air quality, under the title ‘Qatar’s action to maintain air quality – individuals’ actions to maintain air quality’.
The Ministry said Qatar is taking pioneering steps towards improving air quality by adopting modern technologies, expanding green spaces, and implementing strict emission control systems.
“However, maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility, and we urge you to adopt environmentally friendly practices such as reducing energy consumption, using sustainable transportation, planting trees, and more,” the MoECC said on social media.
The following are other recommended actions by individuals: Contribution to activities that support sustainable policies, such as “Sustainability Island”, a national recycling project using solar energy; Preserving the marine environment is a shared responsibility – protect the beaches and abide by the laws; Use of low-emission fuels, such as natural gas, as natural gas emissions are much lower than fossil and biofuels, and Reliance on renewable energy sources, such as solar energy.
