Six Indian school teachers win NT Best Educator Awards 2024

Six teachers from various Indian schools in Qatar have won the News Trail Best Educator Award 2024 which was instituted as part of the News Trail Edu Fair held at Regency Halls in Doha on November 22 & 23.

In addition to the six winners, 12 teachers were chosen as runners-up. The teachers who won the Best Educator Awards are: Jency George (M.E.S Indian School), Riyaz K R (Ideal Indian School), Punam Antil (Olive International School), Regal Joy (Rajagiri Public School), Payal Das (Shantiniketan Indian School) and Sangeeta Ramaswamy (Greenwood International School).

Runners-up from the above schools are: MES Indian School – 1st Runner-Up: Mohammed Ilyas. 2nd Runner-Up: Uzma Fatimee.

Ideal Indian School – 1st Runner-Up: Santhosh Badiger, 2nd Runner-Up: Mini Thomas.

Olive International School – 1st Runner-Up: Anjaly K N, 2nd Runner-Up: Shilpa Sathyanarayana.

Rajagiri Public School – 1st Runner-Up: Nisha Shahul Hameed, 2nd Runner-Up: Simmi Gopinath.

Shantiniketan Indian School1st Runner-Up: Mudassir Abdullah Kirmani, 2nd Runner-Up: Mehak Lateef Khan.

Greenwood International School – 1st Runner-Up: Shiny Sham, 2nd Runner-Up: Poornima Devi Lenin.

The NT Educator Award 2024 celebrates the dedication, excellence, and hard work of school teachers in Qatar. This award honours educators who go above and beyond in shaping young minds, thus contributing immensely to the academic standards of the schools and fostering a positive environment of learning and growth.

What makes the awards unique and significant is the selection process and its transparency,  ensuring that only the most deserving educators are recognized. All the winners were selected by their peers through an online voting process.  Each teacher was asked to nominate another teacher who he or she thinks deserves the award and teachers who got the maximum numbers of votes were declared the winners.

In the event of a tie, senior officials from the school cast the decisive vote. News Trail had no involvement in the selection process, ensuring complete impartiality and integrity.

The awards to winners were presented by Chief Guest Fouzia Taranum, IAS, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate, Karnataka, India; Hameeda Kadar, Principal of MES Indian School, and Rafeeq Rahim, Principal of Shantiniketan Indian School.
